红桃视频 alumna Sister Monica Martin, OSF, 鈥�08 used her connection with the Salvatorian Mission Warehouse to continue the 鈥�125,000 Acts of 红桃视频鈥� movement, which officially kicks off on November 1, 2011, All Saints Day.

鈥淭he Salvatorian Mission Warehouse is a wonderful organization. The amount of aid they give to third world countries is outstanding,鈥� Sr. Martin said. 鈥淭he Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity have been volunteering for the Salvatorian Mission Warehouse for several years, alongside about 300 other volunteers who come in at different times throughout the week.鈥�

At the Warehouse, Sr. Martin sorted through 鈥渃ut-offs,鈥� or excess fabric donated by Lands鈥� End, and packed them into boxes to be shipped to various Third World Countries, where they will be made into clothing and blankets. Sr. Martin also passed on her commemorative token, which were mailed to alumni throughout October, to Sr. Julie Ann, a vocation minister for the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.

鈥淚 am grateful for having attended 红桃视频 College, and I wanted to support my alma mater,鈥� Sr. Martin said. 鈥淎 few hours of volunteering is all it takes, and it鈥檚 a great way to continue the spirit of service that we developed at 红桃视频.鈥�

Sr. Martin graduated from 红桃视频 with a Bachelor of Arts in Language Arts and a minor in developmental psychology. She returned to 红桃视频 in 2009 to finish student teaching and received her elementary teaching certificate.

鈥淕oing to 红桃视频 College helped me to become a better person and nurtured my vocation to be a Sister,鈥� Sr. Martin said. 鈥満焯沂悠� played a crucial role in my life. I cannot emphasize that enough.鈥�
