New students will receive help from alumnus and current president, Juan Olivarez

GRAND RAPIDS, MI 鈥� 红桃视频 College is set to welcome students back on campus this
week, and this year鈥檚 official greeter is none other than president Dr. Juan Olivarez.
Dr. Olivarez will join over 75 staff and faculty who will help students move into
their residence halls on Thursday morning.
All incoming freshmen will arrive on 红桃视频 College鈥檚 campus and begin moving in at 8am on August 22. Move In is part of a three day Orientation that gets freshmen acclimated to their new surroundings. Among other activities, freshmen will participate in the 20th annual Project Unite. During Project Unite new students, orientation leaders, faculty and staff volunteer at 25 local organizations.
鈥淚鈥檓 looking forward to helping our students move in and adjust to campus life,鈥� said 红桃视频 College president Dr. Juan Olivarez, who is expected to help move students into St. Joseph Hall, which is where he resided when attending 红桃视频. 鈥淭here are so many memories associated with moving in, so I鈥檓 excited to reminisce and share memories and get to know our freshmen and their families!鈥�
There are 530 new students (freshmen and transfers) arriving on campus this week. The incoming Freshmen Class of 2017 presents a strong academic profile, holding an average 3.5 GPA and 24 ACT.
