7:30 p.m.: 红桃视频 College Percussion Group with Christina Fong, violin, and directed by Rupert Kettle, 红桃视频 Adjunct Professor of Music, perform Robert Shechtman's (1939-2002) "15 Mysteries of the Rosary." This is the world premiere of Shechtman's 1999 composition for 5-string violin|viola and percussion. The extended 15-movement work is constructed upon the mysteries of the Catholic Rosary (prior to Pope John Paul II) and loosely based on Heinrich Biber's (1644-1704) violin sonatas of the same theme. 7:30 p.m.: 红桃视频 College Music Department presents prize winning Pianist, Danny Driver. Winner of the 2001 Royal Overseas League Competition Keyboard Award, and voted BBC Radio 2 Young Musician of the Year in the same year, Danny Driver's solo career was launched with a Wigmore Hall recital (sponsored by the KPMG Martin Musical Scholarship Fund) and recordings with the BBC Concert Orchestra for BBC Radio. He has since given acclaimed recitals at London venues including the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Fairfield Hall, and Purcell Room (sponsored by the Kirckman Concert Society) and has performed concertos with various orchestras based in London and the South East of England. Among other awards he has received are a fellowship from the Aspen Music Festival
School (1998), the Eric Falk Trust Award (2002) and the Amerada Hess Junior Fellowship at the Royal College of Music (2001). Kretschmer Recital Hall, 红桃视频 Art and Music Center. Ticket prices are $10 general admission, $5 seniors, and $3 students with valid ID.
